Slaget om Aarhus

Participants: 4-5 personer
Duration: 60-120 min.
Age: 14+ years
Language: Danish
Bookcase: 3

Description

Now is your chance!

To own, dominate and rule over Aarhus. Carry out missions as an Aarhusian, Tourist or Student, and set the agenda for who is in power in the City of Smiles.

Control the light rail and avoid the police station. You can land on special fields such as Prø´li´å´hør´hær, Demolition (tear down a lot), Racecourse, City Renewal, Light Rail and much more.

The game contains fun and recognizable Fate cards from everyday situations in Aarhus, and there is speed over the field when Aarhusians fight for power against Tourists and Students.

UNO

Number of Players: 2-10
Duration: 15 min.
Age: 6+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
Uno is one of the card games I fondly remember from my own childhood – a joy I strongly sense is shared by many others who have held Uno cards. It was probably the first “advanced” card game I learned to play!
As a development of the card game Olsen, Uno does an excellent job! Lots of fun cards in bright colors make the game visually appealing.

The special cards like “draw 2”, “change color”, etc., keep the game fast-paced and varied. In Uno, the special cards also allow for some harmless pranks. Most of us have probably experienced receiving the “draw 4” card and losing our turn just as we were about to win the game.

When you are about to finish the game, remember to say “Uno” when you have only one card left! If another player notices that you forgot to say Uno, you must draw two extra cards as a penalty.

Junior Matador

Number of Players: 2-5
Duration: 45 min.
Age: 6+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
Matador is a classic in Danish homes, as essential as milk and sugar.
This version is designed to be child-friendly. It’s more engaging for children to land on “ball toss” instead of “Hellerupvej.”

SET

Number of Players: 2+
Duration: 30 min.
Age: 6+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
SET is a fun game that tests your logic.
It’s all about laying out 12 cards on the table.
Each card has four attributes that can vary as follows:
SYMBOLS: each card contains OVALS, WAVES, or DIAMONDS.
NUMBER: the number of symbols can be 1, 2, or 3.
COLOR: the color can be RED, PURPLE, or GREEN.
FILL: it can be either EMPTY, SHADED, or SOLID.
You need to keep these attributes in mind when trying to form a SET.
A SET consists of three cards where each attribute is either the SAME on each card or DIFFERENT on each card.
In other words, the SHAPE must be either the SAME on all three cards or DIFFERENT on all three cards. The COLOR must be the SAME on all three cards or DIFFERENT on all three cards, etc.

Hint: Red

Number of Players: 4+ players

Duration: 45-60 min.

Age: 15+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

The red HINT is the continuation of the white HINT, and it’s still a party game where your teammates have to try to guess what you’re trying to tell them.

The red HINT contains 600 new cards with headlines such as “Great inventions”, “Typical tattoos”, and “Things you can step on in the street”.

Hint is one of our most popular games for a reason. Hint guarantees a good laugh for the whole family, group of friends, or gathering.

In Hint, you play team against team. Give your teammates the best hints so they can guess the word.

When giving hints, you risk being exposed to a little bit of everything. Therefore, a complete Hint player must be able to talk, sing, draw, and mime their hints. But easier said than done! But whether you can mime or sing, the entertainment is always top-notch.

Not only are there some – occasionally – challenging words, but it all has to be done in 90 seconds. If the word is guessed before the 90 seconds are up, the player just draws a new word, and the guessed word counts as a point.

To add an extra twist to the game, the player drawing the cards for the others to guess draws a card with 6 words. 5 of the words earn points, but there is always one forbidden word that their teammates must not say. If they do, it costs a point, so you have to stay alert.

The game is also easy to get started with because the rules are written like a recipe for the game. In the rules, there are 7 steps, and you take one step at a time, and suddenly there’s a winning team.

Hint: White

Number of players: 4 players

Duration: 45-60 min.

Secret Hitler

Number of Players: 5-10 people
Duration: 45 min.
Age: 17+ years
Language: English
Shelf: 3

Description
Secret Hitler is a social deduction game, meaning there are hidden roles and affiliations that need to be uncovered.

The game takes place in Germany before World War II, and players are secretly divided into two teams.

Some players are liberal politicians trying to hold together a fragile liberal government. The goal is to stop Hitler and a fascist takeover.

However, it’s difficult because there are secret fascists among you who will oppose you, and one player has the role of ‘Secret Hitler’.

4 in a Row

Number of Players: 2
Duration: 10-15 min.
Age: 6+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
4 in a Row is one of the classic games.

The objective is to alternately drop your pieces into the grid. The first player to get 4 in a row either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally wins the game.

What do you Meme?

Number of players: 3-20 people

Duration: 30 minutes

Age: 17+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

A party game for adults. Do you think you can make better memes than your friends? A game for adults who love good memes. The rules are simple: Compete to create the funniest meme by combining captions with pictures. A rotating judge chooses the best combination each round. You or one of your friends turns over a picture card so all players can see it. Then, everyone selects a caption card from their hand and places it so the judge doesn’t know which card belongs to whom. When the judge then chooses the winner of this round, the next player turns over a picture card and judges. What Do You Meme? is a humorous game that creates many good laughs with those you play with.

Today’s youth… Why are they only interested in ______? If I ever get a bigger apartment, I want a whole room for ______? ______ is a fine alternative to toothbrush and toothpaste. Twelve people in the waiting room were all waiting to get ______.

Underwater Cities

Number of Players: 1-4

Duration: 40 minutes

Age: 14+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 3

Description

It’s time to think anew! Overpopulated metropolises have spread across the Earth’s surface, and humanity has realized it’s time to establish a new home at the bottom of the sea.

Kelp farms can provide food, while desalination plants can supply drinking water, and laboratories can offer the technology needed to build a network of underwater cities. Players lead the establishment of their own underwater nations.

They gather resources to build cities, a transport network, and the facilities required to live underwater. The game is managed by playing cards that allow players to choose various actions.

If the card matches the action, the player gets a bonus from the card. Sometimes, an action is so crucial that the player chooses it even if the card doesn’t match. Other times, the bonus is so good that the player selects the action just to get the bonus. Balancing these decisions creates very engaging gameplay.

Tri Domino

Number of Players: 2-4

Duration: 30 minutes

Age: 5+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

The idea of the game is to place the triangular tiles so that they form a large triangle, ensuring that the numbers on the respective tiles match. The sides of the larger completed triangles can be either 4 or 5 times the length of a single domino tile.

The player who first gets rid of all their Tri-Domino tiles wins. There are also other variations of the game. For example, you can play to become the Tri-Domino champion.

Here, you agree on a total score to play to, e.g., 300 points. Then you play rounds where points can be earned in different ways. The winner of a round gets 100 points and 10 points for each tile the opponents are left with. If you have to draw a tile from the board, you lose 10 points.

The player who places the last tile in the triangle gets a 50-point bonus. There is also an easier variation of the game for younger players, where you don’t have to place the tiles in a triangle, but simply lay them on the table as long as the sides that touch match.

Tokaido

Number of Players: 2-5

Duration: 45 minutes

Age: 8+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

In Tokaido, each player travels along the eastern coastal road, one of the most impressive and beautiful routes in Japan.

Along the way, players meet interesting people, eat good food, collect beautiful souvenirs, paint lovely panoramas, and visit temples and other exciting places. The player who has experienced the most at the end of the journey wins the game.

The possible action spaces in Tokaido lie in a straight line symbolizing the coastal road, and players move along the road as they choose actions. The player furthest back on the road takes their turn by choosing an available space further ahead on the route and taking the corresponding action.

Players must balance moving slowly to experience the most with moving quickly to the best action spaces.

Action spaces allow different actions that provide points in various but roughly equal ways. Some spaces give players money, while others allow players to use money to get points. Other spaces let players collect different sets of items, panoramas, etc.

Some spaces simply give points for stopping there or allow the player to take a random action from all the other types of actions. All actions in Tokaido are simple, and combined with the unique graphic design, they create a feeling of calm and zen.

Tiny Towns

Number of Players: 1-6

Duration: 45 minutes

Age: 14+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 3

Description

In Tiny Towns, you must plan and build the most beautiful town.

Each player gets a game board divided into 4 x 4 squares and the same resources for building.

When it’s your turn, you choose which resource to use. You can choose between wood, glass, brick, wheat, and stone.

Since all players receive the chosen resource each turn, Tiny Towns is a game where everyone is constantly engaged.

From the start, you also have several cards to build your town based on. Each card has a pattern that must be matched on the game board.

Building a farm, for example, requires 2 wheat and 2 wood placed in a specific pattern on the board. The idea in Tiny Towns is simple, but it’s important to carefully consider where you place your resources.

The closer you manage to build, the more points your town will score. When scoring, any unused spaces on the board will give minus points. As it can be challenging to build in Tiny Towns, you can use a rule in the first games that allows you to set aside 2 resources chosen by opponents without them counting as minus points.

At some point, you will have no room for more buildings on your game board. The game continues until all players have exhausted their building options, then the scores are tallied.

Times Up! Party

Number of players: 4-12 people

Duration: 40 minutes

Age: 12+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

In Times Up, you and your teammate must guess as many cards as possible over 3 rounds before the hourglass runs out. The first round is called “Talk Freely,” the second round is “One Word,” and the last round is “The Mime.” An example of a card might be “Cleopatra.” In the first round, you can say she was the queen of Egypt. In the second round, you can use the word “pyramid,” and in the third round, you can mime walking like the ancient Egyptians. In the mime round, it is also allowed to hum and make sounds. The team that guesses the most cards over the 3 rounds wins the game.

Back to School

Number of players: 2-4 players

Duration: 30 min.

Age: 15+

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

Take a seat at the school desk and give it a try! Are you the class Smarty Pants, the mischievous troublemaker, or the well-behaved teacher’s pet?

In this quiz game, the goal is to complete all 9 school grades and ultimately pass the decisive final exam. The first player to go all the way wins and can therefore taunt and gloat over the others in the class. If you answer incorrectly along the way, you must repeat a grade.

In this game, there’s no sleeping in class – everyone is involved all the time. All tricks are allowed in this exciting battle. What happens when the “out of the door” card or the “substitute teacher” card is drawn?

Here are some examples of the questions, so you can get an impression of the difficulty level:

1st grade: What aid do you need for the game “I declare war against”? 4th grade: The Earth rotates around its own…? 8th grade: In what year did Denmark, Great Britain, and Ireland join the EEC? Exam: Who wrote “There is a Lovely Country”?

The game is created by the people behind “Bet Your Brain.”

Ticket to Ride: USA

Number of Players: 2-5

Duration: 45 minutes

Age: 8+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

One of the most popular board games today. The mix of strategy, luck, and easy-to-learn rules has attracted and retained players worldwide.

This edition is the base game, where up to 5 players compete to be the first to place trains on various routes in North America.

Inspired by the fictional character Phileas Fogg from London, the protagonist of Jules Verne’s novel ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, who won the £20,000 wager for completing the journey.

Now, some old friends think it’s time for a new challenge, gathering to celebrate the anniversary of Fogg’s achievement. They are making a new wager of £1,000,000. Who among the friends can travel to the most cities in North America by train in just 7 days?

Ticket to Ride: Europe

Number of Players: 2-5

Duration: 30-60 minutes

Age: 8+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

In this version, the map from the original Ticket to Ride USA is replaced with a map of Europe.

The game introduces some special rules (ferries, tunnels, and stations), making it a bit more strategic and competitive than the USA edition. The game is about establishing railway routes from city to city across Europe.

The longer the routes you create, the more points you get (between 1 and 21 points). Bonus points are also awarded if you connect some of the cities shown on your route cards. For example, you get 11 bonus points if you connect the Stockholm-Wien route.

If an opponent has established themselves on your route, you can build stations that act as “jokers”. This way, you can still complete your route and earn the bonus points.

The problem is, you only have three stations, so use them wisely! Since the original Ticket to Ride board game was released back in 2004, game developer Alan R. Moon has seen great success with numerous game expansions and variations since then. This version of the game takes place in Europe.

Taverns of Tiefenthal

Number of Players: 2-4

Duration: 60 minutes

Age: 12+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 3

Description

In the town of Tiefenthal, there are several cozy bars, including “The Tavern of the Deep Valley”. In the game, you are tasked with running the bar as efficiently as possible.

Players compete to run the most successful bars, attracting wealthy customers and using the profits for improvements.

Should you expand the bar to add more seating, hire more bartenders, or expand the cellar where the beer is stored? Make the right decisions based on the dice rolls and building your personal deck, and you will attract noble customers to your bar and become the most successful bar owner in town.

The game is modular, allowing for additional levels of complexity as you become more familiar with the game.

Targi

Number of Players: 2

Duration: 60 minutes

Age: 12+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 3

Description

The male members of the Tuareg tribe are called “Targi” and are the leaders of the tribe.

Would you rather reach the trader first or arrive later with a fully loaded caravan? Targi is a game filled with strategic decisions.

Take it Easy!

Players: 1-6

Duration: 20 minutes

Age: 8+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 3

Description

A fun, tactical game where you aim to place tiles so that the colors match.

The tiles are hexagonal, and each tile has different colored pipes. These pipes can form one long pipe in the same color from one end of the game board to the other.

Will you be the one who, with the right tactics and a bit of luck, creates the longest pipes in the same color?

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

Number of Players: 2-8
Duration: 10 min.
Age: 8+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
In this card game, players take turns saying TACO, CAT, GOAT, CHEESE, PIZZA. The player who starts flips a card from their stack and says TACO. The next player flips a card and says CAT, and so on.

At some point, the word you say will match the card you flip – and then it’s a race to be the fastest. The last player to slap their hand on the pile must take the whole stack. The winner is the first to get rid of all their cards AND be the first to slap their hand on a correct match afterward.

It sounds easy enough, but beware – your brain can get a bit confused. Also, there are three special cards in the game that you need to watch out for.

Sure Gamle Mænd

Number of players: 3-8 players

Duration: 20-30 min.

Age: 12+

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

Most people of flesh and blood can probably feel a bit irritated by the situations presented in this game.

Which of these situations from the game annoys you the most?

Is it when someone cuts in line in front of you?

When someone forgets to use their turn signal?

Or is it more when you discover a dog poop in the driveway?

Can you guess what irritates the other players the most among the three options?

Players guess and vote secretly.

Shelf: 1

Description

Beskrivelse

Keywords

Number of players: 3-8 players

Duration: 40-60 min.

Age: 10+

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

Keywords – a classic returns.

Keywords is about getting your fellow players to guess a secret word with the help of keywords that you give them. The words fall into four categories: People, Places, Things, and Events.

If you manage to guess the word, you may move forward on the game board.

The game’s letter dice could, for example, show K O D S. If you were to get your teammates to guess the word CINEMA, you could give the keywords Comedy, Drama, and Superheroes.

The team that first lands on the finish square has won.

Spørgsmål fra helvede

Number of players: At least 3 players

Duration: 30-45 min.

Age: 15+

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

After answering one of the game’s questions, all the other players subsequently replace the question with a series of teasing questions.

For example, if you’ve just answered the question: “What is your favorite animal?” with “a puppy”.

Smart 10

Number of Players: 2-8 players

Duration: 20 min.

Age: 10+

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

Smart 10 is a fun quiz game put together in a slightly different way.

A smart game box keeps track of everything for you. It can hold all 200 quiz cards and help keep track of your points.

In the game box, there are also 10 small holes. When a new round starts, these holes must be covered by the 10 black pieces included to hide the correct answers.

On each quiz card, you are presented with 10 alternative answer options. The main question on a card could be, for example, “Which sport is associated with these events?” As a clue, you get Wimbledon. The correct answer to this will be: Tennis. You can also get the clue The British Open. The correct answer to this will be: Golf.

When it’s your turn, you can choose to answer a question. You say out loud what you think the correct answer is, and then you remove the black piece hiding the answer on the card.

If you answer correctly, you get to keep the black piece. If you answer incorrectly, you are no longer in the round, and you lose the black pieces/points you have earned in the round.

When it’s your turn, you can also choose to pass. You can do this if you are unsure about the answers to the last questions. It may also be that you assess that there are no more correct answers in the round.

Once you’ve passed, you’re no longer in the round, and you pass the game box on to the next player.

When a round is over, you count points together and place a new quiz card in the game box and start the next round.

As a starting point, you play to 30 points, but if you want to play a shorter game, you can also agree to play to, for example, 15 points.

Small World

Tid: 80 min.
Alder: 8+ år

Reol: 3

Beskrivelse

The quality of the pieces and the board is high, and the playability is just as good.

Quoridor is a strategic board game where the goal is to get your piece from one side of the board to the opposite side before your opponents do the same.

The challenge is that opponents can set up fences that prevent you from accomplishing your mission, and naturally, you can do the same to them.

The game starts by setting up the board. Each corner of the board has a tower representing the player’s starting position. Then, a series of fences are placed on the board to create obstacles. These fences can be placed horizontally or vertically between two squares.

Each player then takes their turn. On their turn, a player can either move their piece to an adjacent square or place a fence on the board to block opponents. However, you can only place a fence if you still have some available.

It’s important to carefully plan your moves and fence placements to find the best route to reach the opposite side while trying to block your opponents.

The game continues in this manner until a player reaches the opposite side of the board. The player who reaches the opponent’s side first wins the game.

Quoridor is a fun and challenging game that requires tactics and strategy. It’s suitable for both children and adults and can be played in a few minutes or extended depending on the players’ experience and skills.

Max Pinlige

Number of players: 3-8 players

Duration: 20-30 min.

Age: 12+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

What’s embarrassing?

In this game, players have to guess what makes the other players blush among three options.

Max awkward situations and other cringe-worthy scenarios – most of us are familiar with both.

Like when you forget to lock the door in a public restroom. Or when you congratulate a woman who’s just too overweight.

But what’s the most embarrassing?

Is it when you’re standing closely with strangers in an elevator and accidentally let out a loud fart? Or is it when your parents surprise you while you’re naked with your partner?

These and a whole bunch of other embarrassing situations you have to deal with in this game.

In the game, over several rounds, players vote and bet on the embarrassing statements on the game board. Each player has tokens in a specific color.

The game runs for eight rounds, and in each round, players vote on which of the three statements they find most embarrassing. The card with the most votes wins the round. The tokens bet on the winning card are set aside and collected in a pile.

After eight rounds, you count the tokens. The player/color with the most tokens in the winning pile wins the game.

Ludo

Duration: 30 min.

Age: 6+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Ludo is the board game classic of all board game classics. It should be found in every game collection!

With so many years behind it, it’s clear that Ludo has been made in a sea of different versions. Here you have the most classic of all editions – designed for four players in the four “ordinary” colors: green, yellow, red, and blue!

On the other side of the game board, the game is expanded so that up to six people can play at the same time – allowing large families to join in!

A variant of the game is to play on the 6-player board and control two or three colors each. This adds more tactics to the game!

Here are the translated descriptions from Danish to English for each board game:

Shelf: 3

Labyrinth

Number: 2-4 players

Duration: 20-30 min.

Age: 7+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Labyrinth is a true classic from German Ravensburger, first published in 1986.

Players explore an enchanted labyrinth. By moving labyrinth cards, players try to reach hidden treasures – they could be mysterious things or creatures.

The path can be quite changeable, as the labyrinth moves.

Start by shuffling the game’s labyrinth cards and distributing them randomly on the game board. There will be one card left over.

Each player also needs a stack of secret cards showing which treasure they should try to reach. Everyone also gets a playing piece.

Players must move their playing piece through the labyrinth to the treasure shown on their secret card.

On your turn, take the extra labyrinth card and push it into the game board. You can push it into the places marked with a yellow arrow.

Then, you can move your playing piece as far as you want. You cannot pass through stone walls. You can also choose to stay if you see that it is most optimal.

Then it’s the next player’s turn. They take the labyrinth card pushed out of the labyrinth by the previous player and place it somewhere new.

This way, the game continues with players finding their treasures one by one.

The winner is the first to find all the hidden treasures and has moved their playing piece back to the starting position.

Klask

Number: 2 players

Duration: 10 min.

Age: 8+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Klask is the type of game that, when you see it for the first time, inevitably makes you think: “Why didn’t I think of that myself?” The game is quick to learn and incredibly fun to play!

It can best be compared to Airhockey, and just like in Airhockey, you have a ball whizzing around the board. You win a round if you get the ball into the opponent’s goal – but that’s not all.

Because you also win if your opponent gets 2 white magnets on their rod. Or if their rod goes into their own goal.

It sounds simple – and it actually is, but you need reflexes like a ninja and be attentive like a panther (I assume they are attentive…) to win a round.

Klask is perfect for a beer with friends, but it can also be played with the part of the family that is not yet old enough to drink beer :-)

Kalaha

Number: 2 players

Duration: 20 min.

Each player has 6 pits and a “home area”.

The goal is to strategically place your balls so that you can get as many as possible home in your own goal area.

The winner is the one with the most balls in their goal at the end.

The rules are extremely simple, so you quickly get to the fun part: playing.

Jamaica

Number: 2-6 players

Duration: 30-60 min.

Age: 8+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 1

Description

In 1678, after a long career as a pirate, Henry Morgan managed to become governor of Jamaica.

Here, he was supposed to combat piracy, but instead he invites his former ‘pirate colleagues’ (i.e., the players) to a race called ‘The Great Challenge’. It goes all the way around Jamaica.

As soon as one of the players reaches Port Royal, the game ends – the remaining players must complete the round. The winner is the one who has collected the most gold in their hold by the end.

The box contains a board, 3 dice, ships, markers, and cards.

It also includes a set of English rules. Note that none of the components contain language, so once someone in the family has learned the game, language is irrelevant.

Insider

Number of players: 4-8 players

Duration: 15 min.

Age: 9+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Insider is a game that revolves around these questions. While conversing with the other players, you must find the answers to a quiz while also trying to identify the “insider” who is manipulating the discussion. The insider must do everything to conceal their identity while leading the others astray.

The game begins with a quiz. Ask the game master, who knows the questions for the round’s theme! They can only answer “yes,” “no,” or “I don’t know.”

“Is it an animal?” – “No”

“Did it exist 100 years ago?” – “Yes”

“Can I buy it in the supermarket?” – “No”

Players must find the answer by asking many questions. But they only have five minutes. If they don’t find the answer within five minutes, everyone loses!

The quiz isn’t easy, but players can usually find the answer. For this reason, there is an insider among them who knows the correct answer.

This insider must try to remain unknown while also steering the questions away from the correct answer. If one of the other players guesses the insider’s identity, the insider loses, so it’s important to play carefully.

Once the correct answer is found, everyone – including the game master – must try to guess the insider.

“Insider” combines two fun elements: finding the right answer to the quiz and guessing the insider. The game is based on communication and can be played with very little preparation by people of all ages.

Age: 8+ years

Language: English

Shelf: 1

Description

A group of adventurers embark on a trip together in a submarine to find treasures resting on the seabed. All are dressed in diving gear, but since it’s an old submarine, they share the same oxygen tank. If one dives too deep, everyone’s lives are in danger! Can the adventurers safely return to the submarine?

In Deep Sea Adventure, you dive deeper and deeper using the game’s dice.

You roll the dice and move along treasure tiles. You have to decide whether to take the treasure you land on.

The deeper you dive, the greater the chances of finding valuable treasures. But if you take too many treasures, the oxygen in the shared tank is used up faster.

If you don’t return to the submarine before the oxygen is used up, you lose all the treasures you’ve collected in the current round. You can also try to drown the other players by collecting many treasures and using up oxygen. You must choose your actions carefully, as the number of treasures you’ve collected subtracts from the dice roll, which also determines how much oxygen is used each round.

Inside the box you will find: 2 dice, wooden tiles, and a stack of markers. The game comes with English rules.

There is no text in the game itself, so language is only relevant when reading the rules.

The game is in the escape room genre.

Welcome to Paris in the year 2400.

Paris is almost unrecognizable. Androids indistinguishable from humans are a common sight, and having cybernetic implants has slowly become the norm.

Part of the city is also covered by a glass dome, accessible only to the rich and privileged. This district is controlled by the company BelCor.

Paris is marked by social unrest due to significant inequality and uneven access to technology and other resources.

The future is full of useful things, but be cautious when solving criminal puzzles, as technology is not always on your side!

In this edition of Chronicles of Crime, you play as the highly educated cyber-agent Kalia Lavel, who like her famous ancestors has always wanted to fight crime and therefore joined BelCor’s elite forces.

However, BelCor turned out to care much more about the numbers on the company’s bottom line than the fight for justice.

Kalia Lavel has therefore resigned and must now solve the criminal puzzles contained in the game. There are four criminal puzzles in the game that you must solve together. Together, you must interrogate suspects and witnesses and gather evidence.

Can you together solve the city’s criminal puzzles?

Number of Players: 2-4 people

Duration: 20 min.

Age: 7+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

In other words, it’s often a race to get to the center so you can get rid of your pieces in the most annoying and cunning way possible.

Warning: Highly addictive!

The game consists of 1 game board with 20 x 20 squares, 84 playing pieces in different shapes distributed across 4 colors. Includes Danish rules.

Number of players: 3-8 personer

Language: Dansk
Shelf: 2

Description

In the original Alias game, teams compete against each other. In this family edition, everyone plays together as a team against the game.

The family edition, like the original, is a fantastic word-explanation game. For example, you might draw the word “snake,” and then you need to explain it to your partner (e.g., “An animal that slithers. It can also be used to water the garden”).

In the family edition, there are “family words” and “adult words.” Family words are used when a child is explaining to an adult or vice versa. These words are obviously easier than the adult words, which are used when adults explain something to each other.

In the box, you will find:

250 family cards and 134 adult cards.

In addition to the two different types of cards, a spinner is introduced to determine who you should explain the word to. This definitely adds an extra dimension to the game, as you are constantly changing partners.

Agricola

Number of Players: 1-4 people

Duration: 30-120 min.

Age: 12+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

Agricola is a German board game invented by Uwe Rosenberg back in 2007. Since then, the game has taken the world by storm! It has won numerous awards and sold hundreds of thousands of copies. There have even been World Championships held for the game.

In its essence, the game is about building the coolest farm. This is done by collecting materials, building fences, farmhouses, etc.

We’re back in 17th-century Europe, where the plague is finally on the decline. It’s not an easy time to farm. Will you become the richest farmer in this slightly advanced strategy game?

In the game, each player starts with 2 family members, which can be increased later.

Each working family member can perform an action each round.

Fields need to be plowed, crops planted, the house expanded, and fences built to keep wild boars or cows.

Players can also acquire professions and improvements that provide special benefits to the household.

No two games are alike, as it’s only a random selection of the available improvements and professions that are used each game.

In the box, you’ll find: 1 game board, cards, and wooden pieces. The game includes Danish rules.

7 Wonders - Duel

Number of Players: 2 people

Duration: 30 min.

Age: 10+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

This is a standalone game in the 7 Wonders series, specially designed for 2 players.

Just like in the original 7 Wonders, each player leads an ancient civilization.

Similarly, over three rounds, players draw cards that provide them with resources or promote their military or scientific development, crucial for developing their civilization and completing one of the ancient 7 wonders.

However, the way cards are drawn in this edition is different. Here, you do not draw cards from a hand simultaneously but from a selection of cards laid out on the table from the start of the game. You can only draw a card if it is not covered by others. This makes timing and bonus draws—bonus draws allow you to immediately take another card—a part of the game. Just like in the original game, each card drawn can be used to build, discarded for coins, or used to construct a wonder. So build magnificent buildings, create a great military force, expand your scientific understanding, and complete a wonder; perhaps it will be you leading your civilization to victory in this card game. There are several paths to victory. Draw the cards and see who ends up with the most points after three rounds. Although the “full” edition does include special rules for 2 players, this edition is tailored for 2 players. It’s a fabulous game that we would recommend without hesitation. It’s quick to learn, easy to play, and very different each time. In 7 Wonders Duel, there are indeed several different tactics to follow. And the tactic that pays off in game 1 may not be the one that secures victory in game 2. All of this means you’ll want to play just one more game! In the box, you’ll find: 1 game board, cards, and markers.

Description

Hey, That’s My Fish is a cozy little game that can be brought out again and again.

The hexagonal tiles are placed on the table and form the game board.

Super easy to get started with and enjoyable for the whole family.

60 hexagonal tiles forming the game board (Each tile is approximately 3 cm in diagonal).

Family Inc. is an exciting and challenging game where you get the chance to show off your skills as a gambler.

The game takes place in the infamous Azzardo family’s restaurant “Tutti Frutti,” where all family members gather once a year to divide up stolen goods according to an old tradition.

At the start of each round, you score tokens, move your counter forward on the score board, and then remove these tokens from the game if you have face-up tokens in front of you.

Then, one by one, you reveal new tokens from the center of the table and place them face-up in front of you.

After each new token, you decide whether to reveal more tokens or end your turn. If you reveal a token that matches one of your face-up tokens, your turn ends and you receive a diamond as compensation.

If your turn ends after your second or third token, you only get one diamond. If you collect a third diamond, you must return all your diamonds and score 50 points.

When you voluntarily end your turn, you must collect all face-up tokens in front of other players that match the value of your tokens. The ultimate goal in Family Inc. is to reach the 100-space on the score track. When a player reaches this goal, the game ends, and that player is crowned the winner.

Family Inc. is designed to challenge your luck and risk-taking. You must make strategic decisions about when to reveal more tokens and when to end your turn to maximize your chances of scoring diamonds and getting closer to victory.

With each round, the excitement intensifies as you try to collect the right tokens and avoid losing your diamonds.

This thrilling game experience is perfect for any game night with family and friends.

Box contains: Score board, cardboard tokens, wooden tokens, and cubes.

Duration: 30-60 minutes

Age: 16+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

Here’s the game where laughter is guaranteed. Lift the mood at any party or cozy gathering!

The game can be played with everyone against everyone or in teams.

The game involves completing different sentences with the cards you have in hand. The best or funniest sentence wins the round.

Each player receives 13 different answer cards from the stack. One player is the judge for the round, who draws an orange point card. The point cards contain a statement that needs to be completed.

The point card is read aloud to the other players. For example: “Once again, the Christmas party ended with ____.”

Then the other players choose the black answer card from their hand that they think fits best in the blank space on the point card. For example, the Christmas party could have ended with a botched amputation, group bathing, or homemade sausages.

Another question could be: “I lost my virginity to ____.” The answer could be a litter of puppies, a cousin’s party, or a loaded shotgun.

In other words, it’s bound to be fun!

The selected answer cards are shuffled, and the round’s judge chooses the card they think fits best. The player who gave the answer receives a point.

In the next round, a new judge is chosen, and new answer cards are also distributed.

The first player to reach seven points wins the game.

The box contains 360 black answer cards, 90 orange point cards, and 16 black plastic sleeves.

Danmarkspillet

Number of Players: 2-6 people

Duration: 45 min.

Age: 8+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Danmarkspillet is a classic family game.

You are assigned 4 cities to visit on your journey around Denmark. As you progress, you must answer questions about our homeland.

The game can best be described as a kind of Trivial Pursuit in a lighter version, as the questions are not as central.

Unfortunately, the questions are not divided into adult and children’s questions, so even though it says from 8 years on the box, it should definitely be taken with a grain of salt! (How many 8-year-olds know where Grejsdalen is? How many adults do? 🤣)

Coup

Number of Players: 2-6
Duration: 15 min.
Age: 14+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 2

Description
Coup is a small, fast-paced card game similar to Resistance and Avalon (it’s also made by the same people). The game consists of character cards (Duke, Assassin, Captain, Ambassador, and Countess). Each of these types has different abilities. Your goal is to use these cards in the best possible way to be the last player standing in the game. A crucial part of the game is that the others do not know which cards you have, so you can bluff and pretend to have a card you don’t actually have. But if you get caught “cheating,” you are out of the round.

In addition to the base game, you also get the “Reformation” expansion in this box.
The box contains:
Cards and 50 paper coins.

Codenames: Pictures

Number of Players: 2-8 people

Duration: 15 min.

Age: 10+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

Are you a skilled spy? Can you guess the identity of enemy spies?

In Codenames: Pictures, two teams compete to be the first to make contact with all their agents (i.e., find the correct cards on the table).

Spy chiefs give hints consisting of one word that can point to several pictures on the table. Their teammates try to guess the correct cards while avoiding the cards belonging to the other team. And everyone tries to avoid the assassin card.

Codenames is a super fun game where you really have to think carefully – it’s not certain that your “good” hints will work as intended!

This edition features pictures instead of words (as known from the original). The game can be played alone or combined with the original Codenames.

The rules are the same as in the original edition.

Codenames

Number of Players: 2-8 people

Duration: 15 min.

Age: 10+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description

Real agents of course operate with CODENAMES.

Only the spy chief knows the real identity of the agents.

In the game, two teams compete to make contact with their own agents first.

The spy chiefs give hints along the way: one word that can point to multiple words on the table.

Then it’s up to the team to try to guess words that belong to them. They should definitely avoid guessing the cards that belong to the opposing team. And definitely do not guess the assassin!

Of course, you decide how strict you want to be with the words, but it is recommended not to start too hard. If you’ve played it a few times, you can always increase the difficulty.

Special rules are included for 2 and 3 players.

Catan

Number of Players: 3-4 people

Duration: 75 min.

Age: 10+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 3

Description  Catan (also known as Settlers of Catan) was created by the German Klaus Teuber back in 1995. Since then, there have been numerous expansions, computer games, online games, and much more! It usually indicates a durable concept – and that’s certainly the case here! Catan is a strategy game of the classic school. Each player starts with two villages and two roads, and the goal is simply to build new cities and roads, buy knights, and much more – and preferably faster than the others! Luck plays a part, but 8 out of 10 times, the most skilled strategist will win! The game consists of 19 land fields and seas – this creates a new game board each time. This means that the strategy that worked last time may need to be rethought? There are also a sea of pieces in four different colors, a bunch of cards and a robber!

Here are some examples from the game to give you an idea if this game is for you.

“All players with a cracked phone screen must drink.”

“Drink if you are friends with your mom on Facebook.”

“QUICK: take a picture of me with flash. The first player to do it decides who drinks.”

Bohnanza

Number of Players: 3-7
Duration: 45 min.
Age: 10+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 1

Description
Bohnanza is a fun and entertaining card game where players trade beans to achieve the best harvest and earn the most coins. In Bohnanza, each player starts with two bean fields where they must plant beans. The goal is to collect sets of the same type of bean to achieve a larger harvest. The more identical beans, the more coins you can earn.

However, beware, as each player is also required to plant the beans they receive during their turn, and there is only room for two different types of beans in each field. The game requires strategic thinking and tactical sense, as players can trade beans with each other and offer different beans in exchange.

It’s important to pay attention to what beans other players have and figure out when it’s best to trade or keep your own beans. There are also various cards that can affect the game and create surprising situations.

This game can be played again and again, as each playthrough is unique and unpredictable. Enjoy a fun and entertaining gaming experience. This game is perfect for a cozy game night with friends or family.

Number of players: At least 2 players

Duration: 10 minutes

Age: 12+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

In Black Stories, you are presented with a crime puzzle. Some have occurred in reality, while others are invented for the occasion. Your task is to solve the mystery.

One player acts as the game master. They know the answer to the puzzle and must help the other players reach a solution.

On the back of each card is a longer description that the game master uses when answering questions.

Bezzerwizzer: Timeline Edition

Number of players: At least 2 players

Duration: 30 minutes

Age: 10+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

In Timeline, you must attempt to place a series of events in the correct chronological order.

Can you guess what happened first? Jump into the challenge by using a Bezzerwizzer piece.

Each team has a series of events in front of them. For example, “The first Olsen Gang movie,” “The formation of Earth’s continents,” “Elvis releases the single ‘Hound Dog’,” and “The Forbidden City in Beijing is completed.” The correct answer is on the back of the card.

On the table, there is a series of cards with the correct years visible. The task is to place your own cards correctly on this timeline. You can “swap” a card with another team or “bezzerwizz” them if you believe they have placed a card incorrectly.

At the start, it’s fairly easy to place the obvious ones, but as the game progresses, the difficulty increases.

The box contains:

  • Game board
  • 200 Timeline cards
  • 8 Bezzerwizzer pieces
  • 4 Zwap pieces
  • 4 playing pieces

Bezzerwizzer: Words Edition

Number of players: At least 2 players

Duration: 60 minutes

Age: 15+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

The game resembles the Bezzerwizzer you may know, but with a twist!

In this edition, you compete in a variety of categories. Some categories are familiar from quiz games, while others are a bit different:

  • Spell the word: Spell the given word correctly.
  • Create anagrams: Rearrange a set of letters to form a word.
  • Three-word challenge: Determine which word can precede all three given words. For example, given “time,” “waffle,” and “house,” the common preceding word is “ice” (“ice time,” “ice waffle,” “ice house”).
  • Hidden words: Given a set of letters and a theme, find the correct word.
  • Order words: Arrange words in the order they were added to the dictionary.
  • Word chain: You are given two words and need to insert a new word between them to form new compound words. For example, between “pirate” and “machine,” you could insert “copy” to form “pirate copy” and “copy machine.”

Additionally, there are more typical quiz questions. Here are some examples to give you an idea of the difficulty level:

  • What word for a “boring person” was originally used to describe a worker who transported peat from bogs using a wheelbarrow?
  • “Why so serious?” is a famous quote from The Dark Knight. In one scene, the Joker explains that he got his mouth scars from his father. What did his father say as he put the knife in the Joker’s mouth?
  • Which 1962 English science fiction novel is titled The Mechanical Orange in Norwegian?
  • American ring announcer Michael Buffer has made a career of starting major boxing and wrestling matches with a certain phrase. What is it?

Duration: 30-60 minutes

Age: 15+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 2

Description

Bezzerwizzer has won a place in many hearts and on many living room tables in recent years.

The concept that it’s not only important to have a broad general knowledge but also crucial to tease opponents with categories they know little about has been a big hit among quiz game players.

The box contains 5,000 questions divided into 20 different topics. These topics are distributed among the players, who then swap them around. This means you might end up with the Design category, even if you know nothing about it (or perhaps precisely because you know nothing about it!).

In addition to teasing each other with the categories, you can also use “Bezzerwizzer” pieces when others are answering. This means you want to answer if the original player gets it wrong.

This way, you can score some “cheap” points when the score is tallied.

In short, Bezzerwizzer is everything you expect in a modern quiz classic.

In the box, you will find:

  • Game board
  • 5,000 questions
  • 20 different topic cards
  • Pieces
  • “Bezzerwizzer” pieces

Description

Alias is a super fun game where you need to explain words to your teammates.

It sounds easy enough, but under time pressure, it becomes a bit more challenging.

In this edition of Alias, you play in teams. Teams take turns explaining and guessing.

When a new round starts, a new player is chosen to explain the words.

If the guess is correct, the team moves their piece forward.

The first team to reach the finish line wins.

The goal is to explain as many words as possible before time runs out.

The space you land on shows a number indicating which word on the card must be guessed.

If you pass or land on a space with a dark background, you have free choice among the words in the next round.

The first team to reach the finish line wins the game.

Afrikas stjerne

Number of Players: 2-5 people

Duration: 30 min.

Age: 6+ years

Language: Danish

Shelf: 1

Description

Afrikas Stjerne is one of the most beloved board games ever and has been since it first appeared in the 1950s.

The game is about up to five players each equipped with 5,000 kr. and competing to be the first to find the diamond “Afrikas Stjerne” and safely bring it to either Cairo or Tangier.

Along the way, players find other diamonds that can be sold, but they may also be unlucky to encounter a robber.

In essence, Afrikas Stjerne involves moving around a board where various tiles lie face down. When landing on them, players flip them to see what is on the front: it could be a dud, a visa (used in the end), a diamond (providing money), a robber (taking your money), or the Afrikas Stjerne diamond.

Money can be used to sail or fly around the board, enabling faster movement.

6 Nimmt!

Number of Players: 2-10
Duration: 45 minutes
Age: 10+
Language: Danish
Shelf: 2

Description
A simple card game with surprising depth.
6 Nimmt is a simple but surprisingly strategic and interesting card game. The game uses cards numbered from 1 to 104. Each player is dealt 10 cards, and 5 cards are placed face up on the table, each in its own row.

All players reveal their chosen card simultaneously, and the player with the lowest card starts. The card must be placed in the rows following two rules:

The card’s value must be higher than the last card placed in the row.

The card must be placed in the row where the difference between its value and the last card in that row is smallest.

If the card’s value is lower than the last card in all 5 rows, the player must choose which row to take up. The card from the hand is placed as the first card to start a new row. If the card can be placed in a row and is the 6th card in that row, the player must take the entire row (hence the name: 6 Nimmt!).

The played card is placed as the first card to start a new row. Then it’s the next player’s turn until everyone has taken their turn, and a new round of card play begins for all players. Each card has a number of bullheads. When all players have played their hand of 10 cards, the number of points (bullheads) on the collected cards is counted. If anyone has accumulated 66 points, they lose, and the player with the fewest points wins. If no one has reached 66 points, the cards are shuffled, each player receives 10 cards again, and a new round is played until a player has accumulated 66 points.

This edition is the basic version with 104 cards.
